Game Development World Championship 2020 Breaks Competitor Records

The Game Development World Championship - GDWC for short - has seen a larger turnout of participants than any previous year, with over a thousand development teams from nearly a hundred countries joining into the championship. This is partially due to the championship's fully online operation, which has allowed for developers across the world to participate regardless of the global pandemic situation which has shadowed this year.

This is part one of our new interview series. For this series we have interviewed game developers around the globe that participate in the Game Development World Championship about the different aspects of being a developer and making a Game Jam game.

All of this week's games valiantly had their Defenses Up! but in the end the victory went to Leturn - Defense of Magic by Dreams Studio from Indonesia! Congrats to the Dreams Studio team!

Leturn - Defense of Magic is an Epic Tower Defense with a compelling narrative. A great evil looms, threatening to gather the broken pieces of a great relic to bring about the great calamity once again, and take over Leturn.

Summer is steadily approaching even in Finland, and there are only occasional blizzards anymore, so to celebrate we've decided to kick off the Weekly Votes soon! In less than two weeks to be exact.

First Weekly Vote will take place on week 22, from May 25th to May 29th.
